Breed standards by the YTCA dictate that the standard colors for Yorkshire Terriers are Blue and gold and Black and Gold blue and Tan and Black and gold. They recognize some puppies with a small white spot no more than an inch big or long.
White yorkies are really not the same as parti yorkies, but rather a general term when parti is very specific. Furthermore, the YCTA considers the Parti Yorkies as substandard or genetically defective animals that often times get sick and die as they age. They consider the Parti Yorkie a thing of Hollywood since Designer dogs are the new in thing. This is the YTCA.
Although there is no formal statement on press release found on the AKC website, forums and other breeders claim that the Parti Yorkies are accepted in the AKC. There is also mention of a designated color number “014” for the Parti Yorkie. While it is true that there are strict measures being followed by the AKC, they have allocations to have litters registered online which can be taken advantaged of by breeders. As verifiable as it can be, there are a few litters by CH Roll Royce Ashley and Rolls Royce Corniche that are Parti colored and are indeed AKC recognized. Simply put, you can register parti yokies in the same procedure that all the other breeds are registered. Although the AKC does not call these Parti Yorkies but tag them as Yorkshire Terriers.
To register the Parti Yorkie is quite simple. If your sire and dam are registered with the AKC, you just have to submit the registration numbers and the litter will be recognized. It will be safe to assume there are a lot of litters born of the Nikko Rolls Royce line and it is also assumed that these litters are registered with the AKC. Their registration procedure is on their website www.akc.org Circumstances sometimes prompt the AKC to ask for DNA samples to verify authenticity of the breed but these are not required most times.
There is also a PAL/ILP program which a Parti Yorkie owner can register his dog but will be given a PAL/ILP number instead of a registration number. This is primarily used for dog contests and Performance events.
In comparison between the YTCA and the AKC, the YCTA seems to be the organization that despises the Parti Yorkie breed. The AKC seems alright with registering them in the Kennel club so long as you meet certain requirements they require. For more information on registration, log on to www.akc.orc

I have a Few Parti Yorkies from Crownridge in CA. They are from the Nikko’s Blood lines. AKC Reg. DNA Tested. I am very Happy to have them. Thew are The Best Parti’s I have ever seen. I went out to CA to pick my Pups. I am Super Happy I did that. Had a chance to see where the MOST AWSOME Yorkies came from. All the Dogs there are Super Nice.Loryn and Gloria have done a Great job bringing the Best Parti’s into this world. Thank you to Gloria and Loryn for giving my Family and I the chance to own them.We LOVE Are Parti’s Thanks to all you hard work Parti Yorkies are here in Orlando, Fl Hope to go back to visit again ! Parti yorkies ARE Yorkshire Terriers, the term “parti” refers to their color not the breed. When you register a “Parti Color” Yorkshire Terrier with AKC you must send in 4 pictures, one of each side of the dog. When your AKC registration papers are returned to you they are registered as Yorkshire Terrier and stated on the papers is their color, ie, Blue and Gold Parti Color, Black and Tan Parti Color and so forth. You cannot register a Parti color Yorkie online at AKC website because you MUST send in photos of the dog in order to have the “Parti Color” listed on their papers.

Well I thought I had it All with my Parti Yorkies from Crownridge gems in CA. I was really let down after finding out after owning “The Best dogs I I could ever own.” Per Loryn. How Things change when you contact the breeder to let them know about some medical defects in the line. They are not the nice person you had thought you had made a Friendship with.I was very upset to find out of 6 dogs form this same breeder only 2 have not shown and defects.My Husband and I Love are Dogs and have spent thousands of dollars in vet bills already. Most all have been fixed not to pass this on to some other poor sol who has to live this Love & Loss we have been through. Maybe not all her dogs have defects as like I said 2 of mine seem fine. However the heart break and money loss is so great at this point. We really feel we were misslead. You can not replace a dog some one has loved for 7 months and it has to be put down. And if you try to replace one with acute unde bite and worst patella deformed case the vets ever seen. Then your replacement come with grade 4 patellas to. Well we gave up on this loss. We now have bought some new line breeders to try one more time to get some up to par AKC Yorkies. Please think about your questions you ask before you buy you next pup. Is the health cert. I get with my puppy going to say they only checked there temp and heart beat only and oked it. wow CA Must have some really soft laws on selling dogs. I called the breeders vet this is what I was told . All they check on her dogs is there temp and hearts. nothing elce is checked on them. WOW Here in Fl we have some super tight laws about selling dogs. Maybe you should get a letter to show that 5000. cash you drop in her hands to. she will sware you never paid it. Well thanks to the first two being paid by check and on paypal I have that proof a least. and The AKC Papers. The Cash deals no records of HUUUUMMM ??I here I’m not the only one been through this with her. Best of luck to you all. I pray we can recover for all of are losses.I have always lived by you get what you pay for. Wow this time I paid top dollar and got the least. Karma comes back around to folks who hurt others. I recomend this breeder to all of you. Thats if you have The Bucks to blow in the wind like we did.

After 4 years …and after buying 4 yorkies with the luxated patellas..and other Health issues, I decided to give the Parti yorkies a try… their Health is just as bad.. I am finding after much research on the Yorkies that the Breeders are not Health Testing the Parents and or the puppies before they go to their new homes….we buy them only to find out..And after the 72 health guarantee is over and most breeders do not Guarantee against Patellas cuz it is not Life Threatening.. Not Life Threatening?? MY FOOT!!! they can’t walk.. but is is us the Buyers.. that supposedly caused the bad Patellas…. All i can say is Watch Out and Take your Vet with YOU Personally to buy your Next Pup…matter of fact take 2 Vets! google them- the breeders names, get as many references as you can …some websites let the breeders delete bad Reviews yal.. are you kidding me ?if you find one honest Breeder you are dang Lucky!!!There is a very big Breeder of Partis who is sought after over her Gorgeous Partis…that they are finding out has many many Health problems now……..SO BEWARE!!!!!

THE FIRST MALE I GOT FROM CROWNRIDGE WAS FROM A BROTHER/SISTER BREEDING. EVERREADY THREW 18 (AT MY LAST COUNT) MALES WITH CRYPTORPIC HERNIA. A VET OF CHRISS CROSS IN FL TOLD ME EVERREADY AND THE DAME PLUS THE SIRE AND DAME OF THESE TWO SHOULD NEVER BE BRED AGAIN… I HAD TALKED WITH LORYN’S DAUGHTER ABOUT THIS AND SHE STATED, “WE DON’T HAVE ANY… See More OF THAT IN OUR LINE.” THEN THEY WENT ONTO MAKE FUN OF ME FOR TELLING THAT I HAD A DEFECT IN MY LINE…I TELL ALL MY BUYERS IF THERE IS A DEFECT IN MY LINE….I WANT THEM TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE BUYING…THE NEXT DOG I TRADED LORYN FOE. I RECEIVED A 14 POUND PARTI AND SHE GOT A 5 # PARTI. THIS FEMALE HAS THROWN PUPS WHOM DON’T HAVE EGGS, CLOSED VULVA…THE LIST GOES ON. THE LAST PUP THAT EVERREADY SIRED HAD BOTH MALE AND FEMALE ORGANS. THE VET TOLD ME HE HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH A THING IN HIS LIFE AND IT CAME FROM BAD BREEDING.

The hundreds of Parti yorkies that are bred today originated from about 6 dogs. So that would mean a lot of close breeding to get more of them. Close breeding brings out genetic faults. It is up to the buyers/breeders to outcross their dogs to correct all the genetic junk! There is simply no other way to breed dogs to get more of a desired color,but to in-breed. Surely the breeders that purchased their original stock knew this! In my opinion any dedicated breeder that trashes another breeder,or their dogs should not be breeding dogs in the first place. You should be sucking up your losses,and move on to improve the breed,and doing a lot of out-crossing!. To many breeders—and not new comers I might add,do not know enough about genetics and should not be breeding dogs. The purpose of a good breeder is to improve the next generation of pups over the first. The original breeders of any rare animal must in-breed to get numbers. That is a plain simple fact!! and with close in-breeding comes all the genetic juNk! Every dog carries genetic junk,and getting this junk out takes a lifetime of diligent breeding. So I say take your genetic lemons,and make lemonaide,by diligent out-crossing and stop all the whining!and name calling! The problem with inexperienced breeders is,that they expect perfection when they buy a pup/dog. To reiterate,every dog has”genetic junk” whether it is in-bred or not. The trick is to keep the “junk” hidden. How do we keep the junk hidden? by out-crossing! In-breeding brings the Junk to the for-front,and by simply not breeding a dog because of a fault is not the way to go. This futher reduces the “gene pool” so now by getting rid of all the “junk dogs ,one would have nothing to breed to. So the solution lies in breeding dogs with faults to dogs that do not have the same fault. I said do not display that same fault,because we do not know if the dog we use has this hidden fault,so we take a gamble it does not have the same fault. Breeding animals with faults also depends on the degree of the fault. For example, if a dog has a slight underbite, and I said slight —not a deformed jaw. One would pick a dog with a perfect scissors to breed to, in the hopes that this will correct the bite. One cannot discard a beautiful dog because of a single fault. The only exception to this rule would be temperment. A dog must have a good temperment to be used in a breeding program. Liver-shunt is another. No dog is perfect,and if it does have serious defects the dog should be euthanized. Don’t give your crap for someone else to deal with! Most problems can be corrected by dudicious breeding practices. Years ago when I was actively showing St Bernards a lady approached me wanting my opinion on whether she could show her dog or not. The dog was gorgeous! typy, massive, correct head,level top-line and superb angulation in the rear. I pushed down on his rear with all my strength, testing his hips for any weakness. His gaits were true and straight,with an amazing amount of animation for a Saint. He was a breeders dream,correct in every way,and not crippled with displasia like most Saints at the time. There was one thing wrong with him however,he lacked the symetrical mask known for the St Bernard. His right eye had the marking ,his left eye did not! Much like some of the parti dogs we now see. He was classified as a “mis-mark” and could never finish! What a pity that this otherwise almost perfect dog was denied his place in history because of a lack of color on his face. He would have contributed the one thing that the breed lacked over all—-great hips!! So a great dog was lost because of a mis-mark. He could have stamped his genes on many Saint bitches of the day to improve their hips!So I say again to all breeders,take your lemons,take a good look at their faults—shave them down if you have to— see the faults and then breed them to a dog that does not have this fault! Change your stud dogs frequently— this is important to keep the junk at bay! Don’t keep breeding the same stud to the same dog. See what clicks! Buy another stud,and keep the gene pool flowing!
